Magazines On An iPhone?

Ran across this article about the market for finite use apps i.e. “content for fee” on the iPhone and started thinking about what reading one of my faves would be like on such a small screen.

Time will tell whether there will be a market for buying content such as a traditional monthly magazine (finite content) as an app on your iPhone.  It is telling that people are willing to exchange the experience of flipping through the pages of a 9″x12″ glossy printed publication for a version that my old eyes could not even read.

On the other hand, I can see the day in the near future when I will be carrying around a 12″ tablet that is (almost) as thin and light as a magazine and runs for a whole day of traveling on a single charge.

Welcome To The WMT Beta Release…

It’s simple!  If you know what’s important…  We start our official Beta release of WMT with a little bit of anatomy.  No, not human, but WMT anatomy.  Another term we should get used to is architecture.  Just like a physical building, this WMT site has an architecture, and the cool thing is that all of the building materials are free.  Come to think of it, most of the tools we use to build a site like WMT are free also.  So what’s the big cost?

MS Multipoint Server 2010

Multipoint Server 2010 reminds me of the old O/S we called MPM way back in the 80’s. It was based on the single user pc o/s called CPM, and allowed mutiple users to run apps independently off a single pc.

Of course MSFT’s new Multiuser O/S will be a great deal more advanced, starting with a Windows user interface on each client terminal, and the ability to run Windows apps like MS Office. MS 2010 is based on MSFT’s latest release of Win Server 2008 R2.

The C-net article says this is a new computing category.   But as I pointed out,  it really has been around for almost 3
