Upgrading To Win 7

If you are one of the brave XP/Vista users who has or intends to upgrade to Windows 7, budget a whole day for the process. Early reports show that the minimum time to upgrade is about 3 hrs and a system which has many applications and lots of data on it could take up to 20 hrs to upgrade.

But whether you upgrade or have a new install of Win7, MSFT still does not include malware protection, so make sure you install a proven security app first thing. Microsoft apparently has a free security app which you may want to try before buying or extending a McAfee, Norton, or other malware app license.
